Heaven & Hell

My tribe of naturalists committed a heinous bit of garden thugery last year and stripped the berries from every single nandina bush in the yard. We have at least a dozen of the "heavenly bamboo" shrubs so they probably stole hundreds of berries over the course of a few months to use in their mud pies and backyard potions.

I scolded. I threatened. I yelled.

My fuming just turned them furtive.

The bushes are dripping with berries once again - so pregnant with fruit they're nearly tipping over. I've got a message for the little ones when they wake from nap: mess with the heavenly stuff this year and there's gonna be hell to pay.
