Wheels on the Bus Go Round & Round

So, there have been plenty of observations from the first week of kindergarten but none more hilarious - and timeless - than this, from the first day of school:

Esme: "At the back of the school bus. On the way home. It was CRAZY!"

Me: "What were they doing?"

Esme: "They were making LOTS of noise."

She delivered the news with a devilish smile that told me she knew the older children were misbehaving but also that the misbehavior looked crazy fun.

I thought it best to keep quiet about my own merry mischief making on various school buses: belting out "Magic" by The Cars as it played on my walkman, egging on truckers to honk their horns, and an episode or two of mooning cars and pedestrians.

I wonder how many kindergarten kids went home and told their parents about that last one.
