Winter of Our Discontent

Remember when I showed you the gorgeous Camelia bloom? And suggested you don't get too worked up about being buried beneath three feet of snow? "Spring is around the corner," I said.

Remember?

Well, I was wrong.

Here's that Camellia bush now.

And the weather geeks tell us we're due for another foot of snow. If spring is indeed "around the corner," it's a dark, unfamiliar corner two blocks down and four states away.

Brace yourselves, people. Make a cup of hot cocoa. Winter isn't going anywhere.

Sigh. I know. At least we're not buried in snow (though there are little hills of icy snow leftovers here and there), but we've had days of cold, hard rain. Today was coooold and so wet. Tomorrow will be coooold with 55MPH winds.

Spring can't get here fast enough. This winter's been tough. I hope you get a thaw soon!
